| MyStudio.... Welcome to my studio! A sunny quilty place to indulge in what I love to do! |
My Horn of America cabinet makes me as happy as Ralphie on Christmas morning with his Red Ryder B B Gun! It has a large leaf out front, which is folded down here, but can be opened when quilting large quilts. There are lots of white cabinets beneath each workspace to provide plenty of storage for larger pieces of fabric, fabric for special projects and my collection of wool. Gossamer-like ribbons hang from the pull on my ceiling fan; they sway gently when the fan is on and add a soft dimension to my room. My granddaughter Mia is fascinated by them! |
| The color palate in my studio is ivory and white, which gives me a neutral backdrop to add and change colors in the room whenever inspiration hits. The ivory and white are also very relaxing and don't compete for my attention when designing a quilt. Can't live without this map chest with 11 drawers, as it's perfect for storing my large drawings & templates, rulers, interfacing, fusible web, large graph paper. A new lamp on the map chest adds to the vintage shabby chic look of my room. I hung an ivory sleigh over the green thread boxes to hold my Beatrix Potter thimbles from the Franklin Mint. Now I can see them all the time! |

My drafting table is perfect for designing patterns and art work. A light box underneath is wonderful for transferring patterns to freezer paper. An inspiration board above my desk is great for tacking up ideas. The card catalog cabinet & the thread caddy to the right provide lots of storage for many colors of thread. |
Shaker boxes store wool threads, embroidery floss & top stitching threads for embellishment. In the middle pic are portable appliqué kits that I made from unfinished wooden boxes- very useful! A favorite picture of a polar bear and little girl is over the map chest. Beatrix Potter tins above the wood carved tile background. |
| This is a commercial storage unit my husband bought which provide spacious storage for my fabrics & batting. I framed and placed some interesting pictures on the drawer fronts. |
